![]() Everything I use works on Big Sur (including in simple timelines - Waves v12 audio plugins) with the exception of the above specific situation. The files are on an external SSD, so I was able to take them to an older machine still running Catalina with the exact same plugins and Final Cut Pro versions and everything works fine without issues every time.Īdditionally, when exporting the final edits from Final Cut Pro, the Big Sur computer was glitching some of the video transitions (rapid flashing white on/off for a basic crossfade for example) - the exact same export on the Catalina machine was flawless.Īs such, it appears Big Sur is causing the problems, but more testing would be needed to be certain. Very occasionally these projects will load and work fine, many other times I just get the beachball and Final Cut hangs completely when trying to open the project. However, I have had a lot of issues on Big Sur with more complicated Final Cut Pro projects involving Multicam and various audio and colour correction plugins (Waves for audio and ColorFinale Pro 2, and in one case the Digital Anarchy Flicker Free plugin). I have no issues at all currently with Logic Pro X and Waves under macOS Big Sur (including v11 plugins which they say won't work either). ![]() I've also written to Waves support asking for further clarification - currently awaiting a response. Is anyone aware of any additional information regarding this fine print note on the Waves audio plugins v12 Supported Hosts page? I can't find any other reference to it on their website or the Internet in general:įinal Cut Pro X (Audio Units) Not supported on macOS 11 Big Sur.
